Mei-Ling and Travis were married at the beautiful Waldorf Astoria Casa Marina in sunny Key West, Florida. We walked into Mei-Ling’s room and we were so completely shocked on how clean it was. She was sitting in bliss just writing her vows. We normally walk into dress bags, food, make-up galore, etc. This was a Studio Julie first for sure! The ceremony was held on the Casa Marina beach and was lead by a bag piper…so fun! Everyone just loved it! After some touching I Do’s the party started! After some dinner and a slideshow the dancing began. Mei-Ling and Travis whisked themselves away in a vintage conch cruiser-LOVE! One thing I just LOVE about Mei-Ling and Travis is that they just kissed on each other all the time…I found it so sweet! Happy, Happy forever you two!!!!

{Jessica & Jonathan} a wedding in Key West, Florida
Meet Jessica & Jonathan! They were married down here in sunny Key West, Florida! The day was FABULOUS! The perfect clouds, the perfect sunset and most importantly a perfect breeze was in the air. Jessica got ready at a beautiful private residence and was then swept away for her ceremony at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. After a very touching service and kiss to seal the deal we were all off trolley style to the Hyatt Resort! Jessica & Jonathan had a unique reception where it was on the beach and the dock. We arrived at the Hyatt and everyone was greeting with drinks for the occasion and we went right into some dancing and toasts! Then we had an A-MAZING sunset! Boy, was it ever!!!! I left them heading back to the sounds that DJ Jimmy Jamz was spinning and I heard that the night was filled with lots of fun! BEST WISHES YOU TWO!!!!!

August 20, 2010 - 6:14 pm - LOVE Jessica. Photos are amazing!!!!!
Danielle & Ben-A Key West Wedding
Meet Danielle & Ben! This is one crazy, fun group! Let’s start talking about the DRESS!!!!!! It is by one of my FAVORITE, FAVORITE, FAVORITE designers Amy Michelson!!!!!! And Danielle looked AMAZING in it! Danielle also loved peacock feathers…they flowed throughout the entire wedding. I met up with the whole gang at the Old Town Manor and we headed to Smather’s Beach for a ceremony in the sand. After some rings exchanged hand and some beautiful “I dos” the gang and myself headed to the Historic Seaport for a sunset sail/reception aboard the Sebago Marquesa. After sunset everyone was greeted by rickshaws aka pedicabs that transported all the guests to an extended reception/after party at the Old Town Manor…this is where it got wild! Hahahaha! I must preface the remaining post by informing ya’ll that it was an EXTREMELY hot day! I mean record hot! Everyone just wanted to cool off so-they lost as much clothing as possible
and then of course that was accompanied by alcohol.
I do love Danielle’s dance with her dad! I mean it was a 1st for me…Dad in grass skirt and coconut top…LOVE!!!!!
BEST WISHES YOU TWO!!!!!
Danielle & Ben’s PHOTO BOOTH
Just a sampling of Danielle & Ben’s Photo booth from their Key West wedding! It got quite interesting to say the least! I should say it become clothing optional very quickly! After a wedding on the beach and then a sunset sail…the guests were ready to let loose…and they DID! I will say this was one of the hottest days EVER!!!!

Kristina + Andrew= I LOVE THEM!!!! {A Key West Wedding}
Meet Kristina & Andrew! Oh, how I love these two…they are practically family by now. I met Kristina & Andrew over two years ago before she even started to plan her wedding and we have talked almost once a week {or more} ever since
It was so nice to watch this entire wedding develop. Details, details details! I remember the magnificent Save-the-Date {if I do say so myself}, to the first invitation proof to the fabulous necklaces that she had custom made. I even remember her snapping cell pictures of her trying on wedding dresses and sending them to me while in the dressing room! It was so great to see it all the hard work come together. Kristina had not one, but TWO wedding dresses. Which also meant…two sets of jewelry, shoes and so on. WAIT! I think we should go back to shoes for a second!!!! Check out the FABULOUS Christian Louboutin shoes!!!! I have had the privilege of shooting these hard to find suckers not once , but TWICE!!!! Aren’t they just beyond AMAZING!!!! Kristina really out did herself when she had custom necklaces made for each of her bridesmaids {she even picked out special things to go in each one}….FAB!!!!
The Swankey Girls {Kristin & Megan} did an amazing job the whole week! I mean this wedding was FILLED with festivities and this group LOVED to party! Kristina also wanted long Victoria Secret hair…she even sent Marie Pierre a tutorial on how to do it….bwahahahahaha!!!! I still find that so funny! Marie Pierre did an amazing job making Kristina look like a Victoria Secret model! Kristina even had Marie Pierre stay for touch-ups {LOVED AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND}!!!! Peter and his team from Milan Event Florals did a FABULOUS job! I can’t forget Steve Torrence…he does a GREAT job officiating!!! A huge shout out to the Casa Marina staff. Roberto & the Flats came and ENTERTAINED!!!! Boy, did they EVER!!!!! From Roberto’s playing every event Kristina and Andrew had-to the acoustic guitar for the ceremony-to a ROCKIIN’ reception the night was unforgettable!!! Casa Marina guests and staff even wanted to join this party!!!
Thank you Kristina and Andrew for coming in to my life and being just FABULOUS!!!! I love you two and wish you nothing but happiness….and a little fist pumping and GTL

Lindsay & Justin {A Key West Wedding}
Meet Lindsay & Justin! They got married down here in sunny Key West, Florida. It was a beautiful day with a little bit of wind. Just enough wind to keep everything nice and cool. Lindsay got ready in a FABULOUS suite at the Southernmost Beach Hotel. This gave her great eyesight over her ceremony event. She kept peeking out the window to make sure everything was just right. Her bridesmaids wore these fabulous dresses that could be worn like 15 different ways by Two Birds Bridesmaids. Lindsay’s dress was by Watters and Watters. She saw it in a magazine and knew that was gonna be her dress! After their beach “I Dos” at the Ocean Front Beach at the Southernmost Beach Hotel everyone headed over via the Key West Trolley to the Ocean Key Resort for a reception on the pier. Lindsay and Justin danced the night away with their friends and family! Best Wishes you two!

SJ says: I love me some sparklers. Well, really anything that is glittery and sparkly! The guests ended up passing the sparklers out for the last song of the night and surrounded Max and Becca. It was so loving and sweet!
SJ says: WE DID IT pic! These two were just so cute and precious I hated to see them leave
SJ says: Love…no words!
SJ says: Becca captivating eyes!
Why did you pick your wedding location?
We picked Key West because it is our favorite vacation destination, a little slice of heaven. The Westin was a perfect spot to enjoy the sunset and all of the street performers during our wedding. How many people have cat man on the pier at their wedding?!
Tell us about your bridezilla moment if you had one! Is it funny now?
My father thought getting a professional photographer and DJ were “excessive”… afterall he has an ipod and a digital camera. That was the only wedding moment that resulted in tears, but we ended up with an amazing photographer and DJ and wouldn’t change a thing!
What attracted you to Studio Julie Photography?
After stalking the blog I was amazed at how Julie managed to capture each couples personality. I knew we did not want a photographer that did cookie cutter posed pictures, and after our first conversation with Julie we knew that was not her style either.
What was your first impression of Studio Julie {right when the shooting began}?
Thank God we choose Studio Julie! Having someone to chat and laugh with before the wedding put me at ease.
What photography advice would you give to other brides?
Make sure you love your photographers style AND personality, it will make your day truly enjoyable!
What did you enjoy them clicking the most?
Our trash the dress session was amazing. They picked great locations I would have never thought photographed well and they turned out to be my favorite photos. Definitely trust their judgment!
What is something you would change about your wedding if you could flashback?
No.
Did you have a 1st Look?
We did not and I am happy we didn’t, I will never forget the looks on Max’s face when he saw me walking down the aisle. Thanks to the amazing creativity of Julie we did have a few photos together before the wedding (on separate balconies) so we had the best of both worlds.
Did you do an Afterthoughts session?
YES and I highly recommend them! The TTD session let us be completely free with none of the wedding day stress. The TTD pictures are among my favorites and we had a blast during the shoot.
Any other advice or anything you learned now that you are a pro? Retro Bride TALK:
Don’t sweat the small stuff, everything will work out and a stress free bride is a happy bride.
Bride’s FAV Images:
Becca says: One of my personal favorite of the boys before the ceremony, they look quite dashing if I so say do myself.
Becca says: I am so thankful we were able to get a pre-ceremony shot together without actually seeing each other.
Becca says: This shot of Max trying not to tear up is precious, for the record he lost a contact lens right after this was taken. Thankfully one of our friends ran back to the hotel to get him new contacts so he could see during the reception.
Becca says: I love all of the details you can see in this photo, the beautiful scenery is one of the reason we both love Key West so much.
Becca says: This picture embodies Max perfectly, he is always up for fun and never too serious.
Becca says: Julie was so excited for this picture and I absolutely love it! We visited the poor elephant last year and he no longer has a trunk or hands, I am glad we got to this spot before he was totally destroyed.
Becca says: I highly recommend a trash the dress session to all brides! This is hands down one of my favorite photos from the wedding weekend. My friends thought this was photo shopped, but I assure you we waded out into the water and climbed up the pillars. For the records my dress was spotless after it was cleaned despite what we put it through.
Anymore Questions to Becca or Studio Julie about Becca’s wedding or experience feel free to ask them in the comment box or email Studio Julie. THANKS! And THANKS BECCA!
